"We built our dream the old fashion way - with hard work," said company Chairman & President Pat Humm who founded the company in 2004. "We've also built a strong network of expert advisors, investors, and worldwide partners."

Pat served 30 years as a senior manager at Texas Instruments (TI) in such exotic places as Japan, Italy and Singapore, but moved back to McKinney with his family to establish his company with a handful of engineers. He attributes much of the company's success to McKinney's qualified workforce as well as the city's convenient access to world markets. So far, Hie Electronics storage systems have been delivered as far away as Poland and Singapore.

The company has also won prestigious recognition for innovation and energy. Its innovative product line delivers a 90 percent energy cost savings when compared with current data storage technology.
