The TBYTe 8 Series is for medium to large businesses with a large amount of computer data backup throughput. TBYTe® units can be clustered together to create more nearline storage and TeraStacks can be swapped to any TBYTe® for instant accessibility. If you have more questions, please fill out our questionnaire form and we will contact you within two business days or call our sales department at 972-542-2327. Digital Asset & Document Enterprise Content Management
The TeraStack® Solution's digital asset and document enterprise content management solution provides a secure and reliable way to store digital assets, electronic records, and enterprise content. It is vital for any employee or customer to Organizations have moved toward becoming "paperless" in their operations. This is accomplished with new data storage technology for scanning large amounts of documents and having the ability to recognize text characters creating a searchable document. An 8.5"x11" scanned page in JPG format averages 301 KB in size while the same document in JPEG 2000 format is about 169 KB. A scanner operating at 200 pages per minute continuously for 24 hours will generate 288,000 pages per day. Using a JPG file format those 288,000 pages will consume about 86.7 GB per day while the JPEG 2000 format will accumulate approximately 48.7 GB per day. The TeraStack® Solution offers data integrity, volume, and security when processing documents. Each TeraStack® Solution unit can easily contain up to 166 million JPEG documents or 295 million JPEG 2000 documents, fulfilling your digital asset management requirements. Many different types of organizations are utilizing this type of data capture. Law firms, human resource departments, architecture firms, and many others are all beginning to use scanners and electronic document production to minimize their reliance on paper. As the size of a company grows, multiple scanners are distributed among different departments and locations. A single TeraStack® Solution unit can support multiple scanners in order to maximize document digitization capabilities in a scalable data storage solution. Data availability and integrity is a primary concern for the storage of virtually all long-term data. IT administrators have had to deal with data migration to new storage media or new systems altogether because of the relatively short lifespan of those storage technologies. Hard drives have an approximate 3-5 year useful lifecycle and tape follows closely with 5-7 years of useable lifetime. The recurring shuffle of hard drives and magnetic tapes is now an issue of the past for the long term preservation of data with high-density Blu-ray optical media. The short lifetimes of tape and hard drive media, due in part to their mechanical and magnetic nature, have resulted in the use of redundant backup practices to compensate for their shortfall requiring extra media, management, space, and energy. Blu-ray optical media data integrity is manufacturer rated for up to 100 years for write-once media and over 50 years for rewritable media. Blu-ray media is extremely resilient and guards data against harm from temperature fluctuations, moisture, water damage, power interruption or spiking, magnetic variations, critical system failures and aging. Hie Electronics, Inc. offers the TeraStack® Solution TBYTe 8.6.6, TBYTe 8.14.28, and the TBYTe 8.14.42 multi-tiered storage and application processing platforms providing a "data center in box" approach to critical data backup that can help alleviate many of the space, power, and cost limitations associated with today's storage environments. Whether a data storage technology refresh is necessary or some efficiency improvements need to be made, the TeraStack® Solution provides a turn-key system that can help solve many of the problems associated with today's storage issues dealing with Digital Asset and Document Enterprise Content Management. |
